Thanks Anthony, I appreciate your comment. And congrats on losing the weight man. Also, you’re probably right about telling people about your “diet”. Most people are too quick to judge something before they hear the end of it. Keep it up!

I have been rapidly losing about 2 lbs a week for the past 10 weeks and people are beginning to notice. I incorporate intermittent fasting and have somewhat of a good work out regime. If i told people what i eat to lose weight, they might slap me. i have been using your “system”(lol) and it HAS transformed my body, my attitude, my outlook on life. EVERYTHING. I didnt really drastically change my diet, i just incorporated fasting into my daily regime and i continue to see the results. I used to be about 214 lbs, which is a lot for my height (5’8) I now weigh in at about 174 lbs and it didnt take much. You just have to put a LITTLE effort, and never give up the foods you love. FOLLOW THIS GUY’S ADVICE. You are a godsend Fitmole. lol.

GP,
First off, congrats on losing the weight. Keep it up.

And you’re absolutely right. People need to stop searching for that “next great thing” and need to simply focus on the basics. I think we’re at a point in time where nothing can really change about dieting. You simply need to eat. less. 20 years from now, there are going to be new diets that simply rehash the same info we have today. In the end, the only way to change your body is to work hard.

Changing your body does not happen overnight, and changing your habits requires a long-haul, life-altering approach, which is the point you made so well. It also requires that you not beat yourself up if you reach for your failures. Just get over it and get back to work tomorrow.

I’ve managed to shed 38 pounds in a about three years. I wasn’t incredibly obese (250lbs at 6’2″), but I definitely knew I needed to make changes. I was concerned about my overall health which, thanks to my ignorance and fast food habits, was beginning to deteriorate (hypertension in your mid-20’s is no fun). I could have lost more weight in less time if I knew what I know now about calorie counts, portion control, nutrition and exercising. But the reality is that I had to get going before in order to figure what worked best for me. I still don’t deprive myself of things I love to eat (except for fast food, which I actually stopped liking), and I’ve discovered that I like to eat a bunch of other foods I never considered before. I’m at 212lbs and counting, and my healthier habits are almost second nature at this point, which is what I was looking for all along. It’s only takes a lot of effort in the beginning, which I guess is why most people give up.
