Since I couldn’t cut out breakfast completely from day one (I was used to eating a daily breakfast of fava beans, eggs and bread) So I gradually started lowering my portions.

First I removed bread from the breakfast, then I just ate eggs, then switched to oatmeal, then a cucumber, to finally being able to cut it out completely!

Change takes time, but it is bound to come!

I’ve been skipping breakfast for a couple of days now. It all started when I woke up and there wasn’t food in the table or the fridge and I felt lazy to buy something so I made some green tea instead. It’s great! Less daily calorie intake plus I don’t really feel hungry till lunch time. I just drink water when my tummy starts to rumble and keep myself busy to not be tempted to eat 🙂 and not eating breakfast won’t kill you! I know a few people who don’t all their lives because of medical reasons or just their own preference. I used to feel bad about them because of how important breakfast was in life according to what we were told. But hey! They’re not fat and they are one the the most successful people I know.
I appreciate #5, great to point that out. I guess certain group of people just won’t understand that.

Thanks Maria, I know so many who feel they “need” to eat breakfast just because that’s what they’re told in the media.

I am not a “fitness” person (though want to be more so). My weight has fluctuated throughout my life because of periods of poor eating and lack of exercise.

However, one thing that has remained absolutely consistent since I was maybe 20 (I’m 45 now), is that I rarely eat breakfast. I hate when people tel me “it’s the most important meal” or “You’ll end up eating more later.”

This couldn’t be further from the truth for me! I have been thin years on end with no breakfast. I have been heavy years on end with no breakfast.

ADDITIONALLY, I have always wondered about body differences. For over twenty years I have noticed that I am MORE hungry and eat MORE throughout the day if I eat breakfast. So, I will continue as I have for a couple of decades — tea with a little skim milk (no sugar). Breakfast or no breakfast is NOT the key to my weight issues. Not remotely.

Thank you!

No.. it’s a terrible idea for everyone. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You should eat big and then make smaller meals until you eat nothing before bed. Pyramid style.
