Hi Paulo!

I think 3 times per week is more than enough. Just don’t forget to still use the dragon flag as a warm up exercise (doing 1-2 reps of 5 second dragon flag or something like that). The reason I say this is that it doesn’t hurt to prepare your core before attempting something more taxing like a tuck back lever even.

Thanks Tyler. Getting to the back lever isn’t that difficult. It’s BEYOND the back lever where things start to get really difficult (front lever, planche, etc). If you feel intrigued by these movements, I suggest you give the training a go. 😉

Hi Stefan,

Definitely, those eccentric dragon flags can be real “ab killers”. Whether you should do eccentric or static dragon flags depends on your goals. Of course it’s best if you can do them both, but if you have limited time it’s advisable to choose the one that can help you reach your desired outcome faster. If that’s getting to the back lever ASAP, static would be my pick.

So, how soon will we be seeing you post your video performing a 15 second dragon flag and back lever combo? 😀

Very inspiring.

The dragon flag does me thinking about those good old days watching Bruce Lee 😀

I found performing eccentric training on the dragon flag also very effective.

Bring yourself in the top position (in whatever way that allows you to) and try to lower yourself as slowly as possible. Really “fight” the resistance.
