In all 20 years of my existence, I’ve been told by doctors, parents, and teachers that you NEED to drink 6-8 glasses of water every single day otherwise you risk the chance of dehydrating your body.

I gotta be honest, just writing that first sentence was painful, but there are still millions of people out there who actually believe that putting all those ingredients in a blender and drinking it will actually “cleanse” and “detox” their body.

Why do people do these cleansing and detox diets?

Because there is an incredible marketing/advertising force behind these diets. From the Master Cleanse to Natalia Rose and her crazy diets, these companies and people will do anything to convince you that detoxifying your body is the greatest thing in the world.

Are Nuts Good For You Or Is It All A Lie?

Off the top of my head, I would say that the 3 most overrated foods are:

  • Acai Berries
  • Klondike Bars
  • Any type of nuts (especially almonds)

Many people treat nuts like the holy grail of health food, and just like the acai berry or Klondike Bar, there is a ton of advertising that backs nut products. And with lots of advertising, means overstated claims and potential lies.

So is it true? Are nuts good for you? You know what, I’m just going to come out and say it: nuts are one of the most overrated health foods in the industry and they might actually be sabotaging your weight loss progress.

4 Reasons Why Becoming A Vegetarian Is A Fucking Stupid Idea

Note: This post is not meant to target those who are vegetarians for religious reasons or those who are vegetarians because they have some chronic disease that doesn’t allow them to eat meat. Instead, I’m targeting every single idiot out there who is a vegetarian for reasons like animal cruelty and health benefits.

Edit 9/10/14: Alright time to clear some air here. I started FitMole back in June 2011 and wrote this article in Aug 2011. Back when I started the blog I was trying to discover the best way to generate more traffic. So I thought to myself, “what’s the best way to get people talking?” So I came up with this article and the slightly edgy, and some might even call immature headline. And yes, I know the article can be seen as a bit offensive and ignorant. I still stand by my claims 100% that going vegetarian isn’t healthier than eating meat, but I do take full responsibility for some of the slightly ignorant comments I’ve made about animal cruelty. Other than that, can the person who keeps sending me death threat emails stop now 🙂

First off I just wanted to say I’m sorry. I normally don’t swear in the post title, but I just have to emphasize how stupid it is to become a vegetarian. It’s stupid, ridiculous, unnecessary, stupid, and did I mention it’s FUCKING stupid.

I have a couple of friends and family members that are vegetarians, and don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate them. I just can’t understand why they decided to follow this lifestyle.

When I ask them why they decided to become a vegetarian, they give me reasons like “Oh, it makes me feel good,” “Because meat is bad for your health,” or “I don’t want to harm animals.” Whenever I hear these reasons, I just put on my best “nod and pretend to agree with you” face.

So why is becoming a vegetarian stupid? Lets take a look:

1) You aren’t saving the lives of animals

I get it. You don’t like it when the heads of baby cows and pigs are chopped off, but do you really think eating that tofu burger is saving lives.

4 Reasons Why Breakfast Is Not Important

Most fitness pros agree about the importance of breakfast for good health. They say that eating breakfast helps you lose weight, increases energy, and keeps your metabolism revving.

But is that right? Is breakfast really the most important meal of the day? Or is it all just a big fat lie?

In my opinion, the ONLY reason why breakfast is important is because:

Breakfast is the only time of the day that you can eat pancakes, waffles, omelets, bacon, etc…

That’s it.

That’s the only reason why breakfast is important. Seriously. I’m not joking.

Some of the most awesomest foods on this planet are only served during breakfast time. I mean come on, breakfast is the only time we can have foods like eggs Benedict, French toast, and cinnamon rolls.

Also, let’s not forget about all the delicious cereals that came out because of breakfast. I don’t know what I would do with myself if Apple Jacks, Frosted Flakes, or Cookie Crisp didn’t exist.

Why Eating 6 Meals A Day Is Not Awesome(Plus A Really Sort Of Cool Story)

If you can’t already tell by the title, I don’t think eating 6 meals a day is awesome. But before I get into any more detail, I want to share a story.

Okay, so this is what happened to me yesterday:

– I decided to go to the Los Angeles zoo.

– While I was petting one of the baby pigs there, a group of 100 tigers broke out of their cages. 

– The tigers started to eat everyone, so I rode the baby pig to the popcorn stand and found a pair of nunchucks inside.

– I defended myself using the nunchucks while on pigback and came face to face with the king tiger.

– The king tiger said “Keith…. I’m sorry but the other tigers and I only ate 5 meals today. If we don’t eat you guys within the next hour, then we will starve, our metabolisms will slow down, and we will become fat. You are my sixth meal.” 

– So what did I do? I did what any other smart person would do if they were threatened by a hungry talking tiger who’s name isn’t Tony: I set the baby pig free and engaged in a 30 minute 1-on-1 battle with the king tiger.

– 30 minutes have passed and I have lost 4 toes and an arm. As the tiger was about to finish me off, thousands of US Special Forces soldiers parachuted into the zoo and killed all the rampaging tigers.

– Then I woke up.

Yeah… it was all a dream, boo hoo.
