4 Reasons Why Becoming A Vegetarian Is A Fucking Stupid Idea

October 5, 2014 | 1674 Comments

Note: This post is not meant to target those who are vegetarians for religious reasons or those who are vegetarians because they have some chronic disease that doesn’t allow them to eat meat. Instead, I’m targeting every single idiot out there who is a vegetarian for reasons like animal cruelty and health benefits.

Edit 9/10/14: Alright time to clear some air here. I started FitMole back in June 2011 and wrote this article in Aug 2011. Back when I started the blog I was trying to discover the best way to generate more traffic. So I thought to myself, “what’s the best way to get people talking?” So I came up with this article and the slightly edgy, and some might even call immature headline. And yes, I know the article can be seen as a bit offensive and ignorant. I still stand by my claims 100% that going vegetarian isn’t healthier than eating meat, but I do take full responsibility for some of the slightly ignorant comments I’ve made about animal cruelty. Other than that, can the person who keeps sending me death threat emails stop now 🙂

First off I just wanted to say I’m sorry. I normally don’t swear in the post title, but I just have to emphasize how stupid it is to become a vegetarian. It’s stupid, ridiculous, unnecessary, stupid, and did I mention it’s FUCKING stupid.

I have a couple of friends and family members that are vegetarians, and don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate them. I just can’t understand why they decided to follow this lifestyle.

When I ask them why they decided to become a vegetarian, they give me reasons like “Oh, it makes me feel good,” “Because meat is bad for your health,” or “I don’t want to harm animals.” Whenever I hear these reasons, I just put on my best “nod and pretend to agree with you” face.

So why is becoming a vegetarian stupid? Lets take a look:

1) You aren’t saving the lives of animals

I get it. You don’t like it when the heads of baby cows and pigs are chopped off, but do you really think eating that tofu burger is saving lives.

Fruits, vegetables, and grains are a staple among vegetarian diets, but did you know that millions of animals die just so you can enjoy that piece of bread? Eating foods like grains means destroying ecosystems and all of its inhabitants. It means killing all the little animals, birds, bugs, and microorganisms that live among the fields.

Do you know how many little animals and microorganisms die when farmers use machines to plow through wheat fields? The answer is a lot more than 1 cow.

As cheesy as it sounds, everything in life requires sacrifice. Animals are killed to get meat and ecosystems are destroyed to get grains. So the next time I’m eating a steak, don’t you dare judge me for killing a cow.

2) There is absolutely zero scientific proof showing that going vegetarian is healthy

When I want to believe something, I need proof. I need definite scientific proof.

And no, proof doesn’t mean reading a quote in Shape or MensHealth magazine. In order to convince me about anything I need to see a scientific study that shows causation not correlation.

For example, eating less food will make you loss weight.  This is a stone cold fact that will remain true no matter what.

However, there is absolutely ZERO proof showing that going vegetarian will decrease your risk of heart disease, cancer, or whatever nasty stuff you can think of.

The only thing we have are thousands of studies showing a correlation between an increased risk of disease and an increase in meat consumption. We have studies that conclude that eating meat “may increase” your risk of heart disease, but this doesn’t mean crap. It’s inconclusive and doesn’t prove anything. Saying that your risk of heart disease “may increase” from eating red meat is like saying you “may” be able to breath fire if you eat enough jalapenos.

And yes, before you get all crazy on me, I have read the China Study a.k.a the vegetarian’s wet dream. For those who don’t know, the China Study was a big study conducted by Dr. Campbell who basically concluded that meat is killer.

While the China Study garnered a ton of media attention a couple years ago, it is also an incredibly flawed study despite it’s massive scale. But talking about all the flaws in the China Study is beyond the scope of this article, so let me turn you over to a great article written by Denise Minger of Raw Food SOS. She did an amazing job in analyzing the China Study and basically debunked every single aspect of it.

People need to stop believing the mainstream media, and need to start looking at the actual research and facts.

3) You don’t get to eat meat

I know this is a bit obvious, but being a vegetarian means that you don’t get to eat meat. EVER. That means no steak, bacon, horse, or BBQ ribs. The closest thing you’ll ever get to meat is some glued together crap made of wheat and soy.

And please, don’t tell me that your veggie burger tastes better than my double bacon cheeseburger, okay? Don’t tell me “Oh, but it tastes just like the real thing.” No it doesn’t, you rationalizing crazy person. It doesn’t matter how hard you try, a piece of tofu will never taste as good as a greasy piece of beef.

So if vegetarians are so concerned about their health, then why do they opt for highly processed foods likes breads and cereals that are not found in nature as opposed to real animal meat which has been around since…. forever. It makes no freakin sense.

4) Vegetarians are actually eating animals without knowing it!

This past summer, I took a Biology 101 class at a community college to fulfill some general education requirements for my degree. While the class was a complete waste of my time and I pretty much bull-shitted my way through it, I did learn something quite interesting.

I learned about the food web, which is basically description of “who eats who” in the environment.

It goes something like this:

fox eats rabbit => fox poops into the soil => the living soil then absorbs the poop(which includes the rabbit) => fruit and vegetable plants absorb that exact same soil to grow => humans eat those same fruits and vegetables

This process happens EVERYWHERE in nature.

So even if you’re a vegetarian, you’re technically eating dead animals, albeit in a more indirect liquid form. But last time I checked, vegetarians were all about saving lives no matter what.

Don’t be a vegetarian

Despite everything you’ve heard, vegetarians are NOT the health conscious animal saving saints that they’re made out to be.

Instead, vegetarians:

  • Support the destruction of ecosystems to obtain their food
  • Kill millions of small animals, bugs, and microorganisms
  • Aren’t saving their health since there’s absolutely zero scientific proof showing that meat is bad for you
  • Are actually eating meat without knowing it
  • Are simply misinformed about every aspect of the vegetarian lifestyle

So if you’re a vegetarian, then hopefully I’ve done my job to piss you off beyond belief, and if I converted you, then that’s cool too.

Once again, the only reason why you should be a vegetarian is for religious reasons or because you have a some chronic disease that doesn’t allow you to eat meat. But even if you’re a vegetarian for religious reasons, you might want to start questioning the logic behind your beliefs, just saying.

Alright guys, be sure to share this article with every single vegetarian you know, and to close out this article I have 3 parting words:

FUCK YOU PETA

  1. Hey i have an idea you just eat meat and i just eat vegetables and lets see who lives longer

    1. When you both live no longer than the other because this world is riddled with thousands of ways to die not limited to what you eat: murder, suicide, automotive accident, falling, bike crash, choking, house fire, disease. Point is you will die no matter what so you go eat vegetables I’ll eat meat and we will see you gets hit by a car, murdered, or drowns first. Just do what you have to while you’re alive to make yourself feel better now.

  2. The only reason to eat meat is because one is ignorant, cruel, selfish, slothful and prideful. If you were meant to eat the flesh of an innocent animal you would have fangs, claws, superior speed, agility and strength and a chute like digestive system like all carnivores do.

    1. We are meant to eat both animals and veggies/fruits. The front human teeth are structured to cut open and tear meat. Humans may not have the explosive speed of a cheetah or a strength of a bear, but we have incomparable endurance and hunting skills. Our digestive system is literally made to digest meat. We cannot digest cellulose, a common component of plants, that herbivores can eat. To argue humans were not meant to eat meat is ridiculous from a biological standpoint.

      1. This is simply not true. Humans are clearly not designed to digest and ingest meat.

All omnivorous and carnivorous animals eat their meat raw. We however, cannot. Eating raw bloody meat is not only dangerous for us, it also disgusts us.

Our teeth are designed like herbivores teeth; no sharp front teeth, but flat rear molars for grinding, whereas carnivores have sharp front teeth for tearing, with no flat molar teeth for grinding.

And meat-eaters have intestinal tract that is 3 times their body length so that rapidly decaying meat can pass through quickly, humans however have
have an intestinal tract 10-12 times their body length (the same as herbivores).

At the end of the day, humans (from a biological standpoint) have evolved with intelligence and compassion.

This means that we should be utilising our biological intelligence by:

        – considering the billion of people on the planet who are starving purely because we eat meat (the food used to sustain animals bred for food would end world poverty if used for humans),

        – the health of the world that we live in (even the UN has said that the world needs to start moving towards a vegan diet if we are to save the world from the worst impacts of climate change)

        – and compassion for the billions of animals that go through mental and physical pain all for our diet.

And so no, I do not agree with your point in the slightest.

        1. You’re argument is invalid because we were originally meat eaters and pretty much everything you said is all crap like where hell did you get your information from? And animals suffer from a lot more pain when killed in the wild they get mauled and eaten alive so you won’t change their suffering

          1. We used to eat meat, I agree. But the meat we eat today is not the meat we ate 50,000 years ago. Most of what you think is meat is hardly meat.

And it is “your argument”, not “you’re argument”.

Before trying to fool yourself into thinking you’re smart, try and educate yourself.

          2. You found a spelling mistake good for you but I’m not trying to be smart I’m only telling the truth You’re actually such a disappointment it’s not funny and explain why meat is hardly meat

      2. You’ve made a point but actually completely contradicted yourself!

“We have incomparable endurance and hunting skills”

Yes maybe we do! But we’re not out in the wild hunting animals or using our endurance skills to catch wild animals, giving them a fair chance in ‘the circle of life/lion hunts antelope’ kinda way are we? Like you argue that we’re made to do? No, we are sitting on our fat arses while animals are intensely farmed in factorties, tortured and wrapped in cellophane for us to grab a bargain steak from the shops and go ‘oooh sirloin only a fiver? Wow, how do they do it so cheap?’

        Seriously people, wake up

    2. we can learn martial arts and increase our agility, speed and strenght, we have large arms and legs for grappling for kill by suffocation or to break bones, we can build up enough strenght to tear flesh from bone, yes we are meant to be predators, with enough physical training, we can reach a high capacity of predatory skills.

      1. Yes we are meant to be predators- and pray. Are digestive system and teeth can handle both choosing to eat only veggies is fine but being a omnivore is natural to!

      2. Well get off your arse and go use your skills to hunt your dinner in the wild then idiot? Oh no, that’s right, you’ll just use this as your eating meat argument whilst you wait for your factory farmed take away to be delivered.

  3. Thank you for the article , I was reading about weight loss in a sort of reverse way and read yours ( then the above ) it seemed to be thought out ( seeing I was a meat eater before three months ago ) and then I developed a serious problem that was not curable according to mainline medicine , but upon advice from a clinic in UK and one in the US backed up by a university hospital in India I stopped eating meat, all processed foods and all dairy products, beer and fizzy drinks and have been pain free since day one ( stiff on day one but pain free ) and I can now walk ( before I was running 5/6 miles a day by the way ). I will now tell you I am a Buddhist ( have been since 1999 ) and many people expected me to a vegetarian, but what people think and what some Buddhists eat are vary different. So what you state about animals being killed just so I can eat vegetables is true, and what I was told by a monk back then that creatures have, are and will still die just to feed me with veg ! anyway for medical reasons it appears I am now a vegetarian. But I found your reasoning bang on.

  4. Umm.. actually for every vegiatarian about 200 less animals are killed every year. Also we have a lower chance of heart disease, I’m not saying meat eating is stupid but it’s ignorant and offensive to write about other people’s way of life.

    1. You do know you said eating meat is ignorant then said that it’s offensive to talk a bout other people’s way of life right.

  5. It should be illegal to be this ignorant, but what more can one expect from a subanimal imbecile like yourself? It really should be you going up for slaughter rather than innocent, sentient beings. Why are you pressed over the fact that some of us have no interest in consuming diseased, growth hormone injected meat from sickly animals, pus filled cow’s milk or chicken periods? Sounds like you’re looking for ways to ease your guilt. Those of us who are not primitive, blood thirsty beasts simply will not support an industry (animal agriculture) that we know is unsustainable, the number one cause of global greenhouse gas emission and responsible for nearly one billion people starving worldwide in developing countries. Yes, the grain being fed to animals for fat asses in developed countries to devour could instead be used to feed the people whose lands are being used to grow the grain. Given the fact that we currently produce enough grain to feed 11-14 billion people, those of us who actually deserve to call ourselves human refuse to produce such an atrocity. Not to mention, the Earth itself wouldn’t be able to sustain itself if every other country are as much meat as fatty Americans. It also is unlikely to be able to support a meat eating population much larger than the one we have now. What the hell do you think is going to happen when the population reaches 10-11 billion?
The only thing you could say about why people shouldn’t go vegan is because it’s “stupid”. You have no point and simply looked for a source that supported the ignorance you spouted. If one looks hard enough, one can find something to support whatever bullshit they support which doesn’t make them credible. By the way vegetarians/vegans not eating meat may not save animals from being slaughtered since your kind is too selfish and ignorant to give up meat, but it does mean that we refuse to support something that we know is wrong. Not to mention all of the health benefits of eating a whole foods, plant based diet. Enjoy your heart disease and cholesterol. In fact people like you are simply doing mother nature’s job for her and helping to cleanse the gene pool since you are unlikely to live long. Social Darwinism at its finest.

  6. I laughed for 2 minutes, if that’s the mentality of a fucking Meat-eater then I might as well become a cannibal, cause we were made to eat meat, right? And in my opinion, saying that you “need proteins” or “you were made to eat meat” is stupid, because carnivores were born with their speed, agility, yet we need to train daily if we want to be almost as good as one. And there exist protein bars, pills, yet vegetarians AND most vegans don’t use any of those. So if you’re saying that you are supposed to eat meat, then why don’t you eat meat daily, only meat, nothing else, and I’m pretty sure you’ll likely die from cancer. I love animals, and I wouldn’t dare to eat one, cause I imagine the way they lived BEFORE they reached into my god damn plate. And it’s disgusting as well. If scientific proof that being a vegetarian or a vegan is something good for your health, for your life, for animals, and you still say that being a vegan or a vegetarian is stupid because you kill tiny creatures, yet they are practically EVERYWHERE.

  7. I don’t eat meat because i don’t like the taste ,so you are saying you should eat meat even if you don’t like the taste of it.

  8. I am not even a vegetarian and I think what you are saying is stupid. I believe the only good excuses for being vegetarian is A)you don’t like meat. B) for the fucking animals. And I guarantee to you that way more animals on the farm die than the little animals in the field when farmers use machines to plow through wheat fields (which they only would do every 3 to 6 months and only in warm climate.) Whereas the animals on the farm die daily. They are not just killed they are tortured. Thats a whole other ball game. Pigs are smarter than dogs. Would you force your dog to live in a small cage all its life. inseminate ur dog and torture its babies to death in front of your dog? Well thats what they do to pigs. And if you said yes to any of that then your fucked in the head. The reason u wrote all this stuff is cause you dont know but now you do. If half the world becomes vegetarian than farmers will raise less animals therefore torture and slaughter less animals. But it shouldn’t just be up to vegetarians to stop animals from getting tortured. Maybe there should be some new laws put in place and enforced so that animals dont get tortured. Killing baby animals should just be illegal. Killing baby animals to get better meat is just greedy. Fuck meat is good enough as it is. Also countries should not import meat from other countries that dont share the same rules.

    1. All of the statements you’ve presented are so uninformed and I have a hard time taking you seriously. If you torture an animal then the meat will be ruined which is why they are put down in the most humane way possible. Also how is a pig more useful than a dog? Please explain otherwise stop spouting BS.

  9. Most of you have made a point but actually completely contradicted yourself!

Seriously people, wake up and if you can’t wake up then at least have a valid fucking argument.

  10. I can only hope this article was supposed to be a joke…. You do know that about 90% of crops that is grown is being fed to the animals you eat? So don’t blame vegetarians for killing the poor mice in the fields. And if you want more followers maybe take some writing classes and use less swear words. Sounds like this was written by a child.
